Insights from the Founder: Prioritizing Fitness

We’ve all been there – stuck in a workout that doesn’t quite feel productive. Maybe it’s because you were texting, changing songs, or chatting with a friend. The truth is, multi-tasking during your workout can make it way less effective. You might feel like you’re putting in the time, but are you really pushing yourself?

To get the most out of your exercise routine, quit multi-tasking. If you can’t help but do more than one thing at a time, try super setting your exercises with little to no rest between sets. This helps keep your heart rate up – which is crucial for toning muscles and burning calories. Just be sure to get your doctor’s okay before starting any intense workouts.

Keeping your heart rate elevated is key to maximizing calorie burn and what’s known as the afterburn effect, or EPOC. Many fitness enthusiasts talk about this, and it’s a proven concept. For efficient, quick workouts, aim to be focused and avoid unnecessary distractions.

When you’re pressed for time, shorter, more efficient workouts are a game-changer. They’re easier to stick with and can be just as effective as longer ones. Imagine getting the same benefits from a 20-minute workout as you would from an hour-long session filled with distractions. It’s not about spending hours in the gym – it’s about making the most of the time you have.

Next time you work out at home, try this: Ditch your phone, turn on the radio, and commit 20 minutes to a focused, uninterrupted workout. If leaving your phone behind is too tough, at least pick a playlist and stick with it, avoiding constant checks.

Give it your all during this time. Stay focused, and minimize distractions. After you’re done, feel free to jump back on social media and share your progress – but let your workout time be just for you. This is your moment to improve yourself, to disconnect, and to be completely present in your workout.

Concentrate on your movements, your body, the reps, and the feeling of getting stronger. This is the time to fully engage and expand your capabilities. Give it a shot.
