When you’re planning a trip, it’s important for men to pack their backpacks with all the essentials. Here’s a checklist for every guy who loves backpacking around the world.
Choosing the right luggage is just as important as packing the right items. Small suitcases are becoming popular among seasoned travelers because they’re easy to navigate through busy airports, fit in overhead compartments, and are perfect for short trips where packing light is ideal. Plus, they’re stylish and make accessing your belongings a breeze.
For a base layer, pack a thermal, long-sleeve shirt. You can wear it alone in cooler weather or add a jacket or fleece sweater if you’re heading to freezing temperatures. It’s recommended to pack at least one tight-fitting fleece for extra warmth during cold weather.
A lightweight, waterproof, and windproof hooded jacket is a must-have. These jackets are perfect for rainy days and can be easily rolled up and stored in your sling backpack when not in use.
Pack at least two dark-colored cotton shirts to avoid stains and for comfort during warm weather. Additionally, quick-drying shirts are great for humid areas since they dry fast.
Don’t forget at least one collared, buttoned shirt. For colder areas, go with long-sleeved, and for warmer places, a short-sleeved shirt works. A collared shirt is useful for dressing up or visiting more conservative areas.
For bottom clothing, pack a thermal base layer of pants, which won’t take up much space but are great for cold regions. Even if you’re not hiking, lightweight and quick-drying hiking pants are comfortable for city exploration. If hiking, choose pants with side pockets. Also, pack dress pants for dinners or nights out and comfortable shorts for city adventures. Always remember to bring your underwear, and if possible, pack quick-drying ones for convenience.
Socks are essential too – pack one thick pair for cold climates and thin, quick-drying ones for warm weather. (Keep your feet comfy with a pair of shoes that are easy to walk around in, and bring flip-flops for resting your feet).
Leave room in your backpack for hygiene products, especially if you’re traveling abroad. Your toiletry bag should include a travel toothbrush, a small tube of toothpaste, a small bottle of shampoo, a soap bar with a compact soapbox, deodorant, and flushable wipes like DUDE Wipes. Sunscreen is essential for warmer climates to protect your skin from UV rays. Also, pack a small razor.
Start making your list and pack with these items in mind. Check thoroughly to ensure you have everything you need for your trip.
